Introducing Mariela Salas, the new LatinxVC Executive Director
Mariela will lead the organization's mission to grow and support the Latinx venture capital ecosystem.
Our organization was founded in 2019 as a member led community that has continued to grow through our programming, events, and partnerships since then. With Mariela on our team as our first Executive Director we embark on the next phase of LatinxVC’s growth. We remain committed to changing the venture capital ecosystem into a more inclusive and diverse one. We believe that when investors can show up as their authentic selves, the flow of capital from limited partners to venture capitalists and ultimately to founders becomes more diversified, impactful, and representative of U.S. demographics.
Mariela is the proud daughter of Mexican immigrants with nearly 20 years of experience in the entrepreneurship, finance, infrastructure, and technology sectors, she has held executive leadership positions in various companies and nonprofits, including JP Morgan, Verizon, and Ascendus. During the Board’s conversations with her it was clear that she arrived at a similar vision to the one we hold by pursuing a Doctorate of Business Administration at Pepperdine University’s Graziadio Business School focused on the intersection of Latinx Identity, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Venture Capital. We are confident her experience across the for-profit and non-profit worlds combined with her dedication to evidence-based solutions will be the right recipe to leads us onward.
Mariela will be spending time across the U.S getting to know the ecosystems where our members are most active and with the various partner organizations we work with. We can’t wait for you to meet her!
